Solution to packaging easily damaged PIC chips for use in class. Use a DIL wire wrap socket and cut down and sand the legs to about 8mm. Hold the PIC on with a nylon tie. I have had no PICs broken since inventing this, before I lost £20 worth in two weeks. Photo 1 - Photo 2 - Photo3
