Projects and oddments

These files are a mixture of pupil ideas for GCSE projects and oddments which aren't really full projects.

LiveWire files:
741 type OP amp with wired oscilloscope for demonstrating switching thresholds

Basic timed rolling dice - 6 LED's in a row flashing consecutively

Pat Boone's Games countdown timer - counts down through 9 LED's then buzzer sounds

Flashing bike alarm with horn

Advanced alarm with anti-false triggering counter and timed output

Dwayne Pipe's Door open alarm with solenoid actuation

Dr Evils Dice circuit - Does not work well in practise without a better choice of transistors

Simple number pad alarm - ten inputs, seven trigger a buzzer, three together unlock

Please be aware that I have experienced translation problems when exporting the livewire circuit into PCB Wizard 3.0. This appears to be connected with problems in PCB Wizard reading LiveWire power connections. Circuits can have multiple earth symbols dotted around but they can end up with separate isolated parts when exported to PCB Wizard. Also, Digital chip power connections can often be unlinked.

Splitting a LiveWire circuit up into separate modules for each part and exporting individually works well as you can add 'links' for power and signals between the circuits in PCB Wizard.

ALWAYS add tell tale LED's to your circuits so you can diagnose a problem by seeing which lights are glowing and flashing.
