Gifted and Talented Events

Since 2001 I have planned and run G&T events for city, County and Regional organisations

The most recent is called 'Sketchup Power Training' and is a one day course for KS4 pupils from across the East Midlands

The course starts from absolute scratch teaching the concepts of 3D graphics, leading on to advanced skills such as setting Shadows and Fog in participants models

To enable participants to progress at their own rate, I recorded a set of 16 e-learning films to guide them through each stage

Two CD's containing all the files and e-learning materials given to all participants to pass on to others at home

Other G&T events I have developed and run:

KS4 Team building course through virtual (computer modelled) paintballing including planning and modelling exercises

Participants playing a whiteboard game

Clockwork Monsters course with KS2 pupils, 1 day event where participants explored energy transfer and built a range of clockwork mechanisms

A room humming with activity

KS1 Fling Thing half day event with participants assembling electric ball launchers and adapting them to fire 10 ping pong balls as quickly as possible by designing and making a ball loader

A TA accompanying their schools pupils. ALL people attending have to do the activity
