Science Maths And Technology Saturdays

In 2000 I was asked by Kirk Hallam Community Technology College in Derbyshire to set-up and run a series of Saturday Masterclasses to offer Out of Hours opportunities to secondary and primary pupils in the area, and the community in general

Over 4 years I developed and ran 56 separate master classes in 26 subjects, each running for3-4 consecutive Saturdays. I identified projects, produced the resources, trained the staff and set-up the various educational and charitable partners funding courses.

At its peak, there were 6 classes running simultaneously in subjects as diverse as Robot Wars, Flight, Jewellery and Sattelite Navigation

Parents and community members were always involved and sometimes, especially during the radio control airship classes, almost took over from the pupils they came with
